The Ministry of Interior has announced the recovery of new war remnants from Al-Sawani and Sidi Al-Sayeh areas, south of Tripoli.
The ministry said on its Facebook page, “The security inspection and explosive dismantling team affiliated with the Technical Affairs Department of the Criminal Investigation Agency was the one which recovered the waste from Al-Sawani area, south of the city of Tripoli.”
The waste consists of 4 mortar 82 mm shells and 5 unexploded projectiles. The team also recovered an unexploded 68 mm rocket in the Sidi Al-Sayeh area.
The Ministry explained that the waste was transferred to the place designated for storage until it is destroyed using safe methods, and procedures as well as a comprehensive survey of the two areas to ensure that they are free of war remnants.
