The spokesman for the Man Made River System, Tawfiq Shuhaidi, stated on Tuesday that the reason for the interruption of water flow in some areas and neighborhoods of Tripoli was due to the excessive consumption of water by citizens.

Shuhaidi said in a press statement that citizens need to ration water consumption, stressing that the allocation for Tripoli exceeds 500 million cubic meters per day.

He added that the control rooms of the Hasawna water system are not subject to load shedding from the General Electricity Company, reassuring citizens that there is no impact by power outages on the system.
