The Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Company announced that they had extinguished the fire in the Al-Harouj Company oil tanks. The company confirmed the collapse of tank No. 12 and the discharge of large quantities of oil.

They also confirmed a fire in tank No.2, noting that the weather and wind direction helped to keep the fire from spreading to tanks No.1 and No.3, which are adjacent to tank No. 2.

“All these conditions helped reduce the risk of fire inside the other oil tanks,” according to a statement by the company.

The company praised the efforts of the firefighters at Ras Lanuf and Al Waha companies despite the lack of resources and inadequate conditions.
