Member of the House of Representatives (HoR), Sayada Yacoubi, disclosed that a number of MPs of the western region had prevented a scheduled session from taking place in Tripoli to elect a new speaker for the parliament.
Yacoubi said that the MPs justified their refusal to hold a session to their intention to negotiate with warlord Khalifa Haftar.
Earlier a number of the HoR members confirmed their intention to hold a meeting in Tripoli for electing a new speaker after members from the eastern region expressed their satisfaction with the aggression of Haftar's militias on the capital Tripoli.
