The Central Committee for Youth Local Council Elections has announced the end of the registration period, indicating that 31,491 young men and women have registered to run for elections in several municipalities on May 6.

The ministry indicated that these elections come in implementation of the initiative of the head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, which he announced during the celebration of International Youth Day in 2021, according to a statement by the Ministry of Youth on its Facebook page.

This is the third round of the elections, which were postponed after they were scheduled to take place last January, as this round includes 44 councils, while the first and second rounds included 31.
