The Zawia Court of Appeal has issued a ruling nullifying the agreement to sell the US holding company, Hess’ 8.16% stake in the Waha concession to the French Total Energy and the US ConocoPhillips.

The Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Aoun, had halted the procedures for the selling and accused the ex-Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, of not following transparency, saying that the latter sold the share of the Marathon Oil company, based on a letter from the former head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj.
