The Zawiya Oil Refinery Company has resumed a long-delayed project to upgrade its control and monitoring systems, the company announced this week.
The project, which had been on hold for several years, is part of a broader strategy to modernise the refinery’s infrastructure in line with international standards and emerging technologies in the energy sector.
In a statement, the company confirmed it has signed an agreement with Italian firm Indeco to implement the upgrade. The initiative aims to deploy advanced technologies to enhance system reliability, improve operational efficiency, and ensure a safer working environment.
The company's chairman said the project falls within a comprehensive plan to bring the company’s facilities up to date with global developments in refining and industrial operations.
