3 infants have died because of bitter cold in Bayda, the city's media center reported today, as bad weather conditions sweep the country for the third consecutive day.

The 3 infants were identified as Mohammed Emhol, and twin babies Abdul-Rahman and Fatima Essa.

The National Centre for Meteorology forecasted that temperature in the Green Mountain region will reach six degrees Celsius during the day and it will fall to below zero at night. Snowfall was reported in Sidi Al-Homri district in Bayda.

To add to their woes, Libyan people are left without power for around 10 hours a day.

The Interim government of Abdullah Al-Thanni declared Sunday and Monday a two-day holiday in all schools in east Libya due to the bad weather.
