A woman and her 3-month-old child were burned to death after a fire broke out in their house in Sog Al-Khmies Emsihel region, south of Tripoli, on Wednesday.

Ali Askir Hospital said it had received the two charred bodies after their house caught fire caused by a candle that left unattended in the living room.

Tripoli has been hit by more than 10-hour power outages daily with no government solutions on the horizon.

Several people have bought power generators while many others have turned to candles to light up the chilly winter nights.
