Libya's mother of orphans dies in Tobruk
Libya's famous midwife and adoptive parent Fatimah Kawashia Shiekhi has died.
Kawashia died in the eastern city of Tobruk at the age of 94 on Sunday, local sources reported.
She was well-known for adoption of orphans until they grow up and get married, and helping the city's women in childbirth in her house, especially in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
The sources said Kawashia had adopted more than 14 orphans and was nicknamed the mother of orphans.
"She was a mother of all Libyans and a good example of love," the sources added.
