The Central Tripoli municipality members met on Tuesday with Tripoli-based civil societies and activists to discuss the continuous power outages in Tripoli and the ways out.

“We’re so upset with the current power situation and the more-than-ten-hour outages every day in the capital.” The civil societies told the Central Tripoli municipality, adding that the power cuts badly affected people’s lives; especially the elderly and babies as well as the sick amid news about deaths due to cold or suffocation by primitive heating methods.

The municipality warned, on its Facebook page, that next meeting on Thursday will see some escalations on their part if the power outage continued as tragic as it is now.

It added that the Thursday meeting will include also representatives for Tripoli residents so that together they can all take urgent and swift measures against the relevant official authorities responsible for the power dilemma in the capital.
