Two people were killed and at least 7 others were injured in an armed attack that targeted the building of the Rabyana Security Directorate in southeastern Libya, at dawn on Thursday, according to official statements issued by the ambulance and emergency apparatus in Tripoli and the Ministry of Interior of Fathi Bashagha's government.

The ambulance and emergency apparatus in Tripoli said that its branch in the city of Kufra transferred seven wounded people who were injured as a result of the clashes that took place in Rabyana on Thursday morning to the Educational Hospital. It added that the teams of the apparatus also transferred wounded people from Kufra Hospital to the Libya Clinic in Al-Shura neighborhood after providing them with first aid.

The Ministry of Interior of Bashagha's government announced that the building of the Rabyana Security Directorate was attacked on Wednesday by an outlaw group with criminal records, explaining that the Directorate’s officers dealt with the outlaw armed group and responded to the sources of fire, adding that they were arrested.

It also confirmed in a statement that the clashes resulted in the death of two policemen, one of whom died on the spot and the other in hospital due to his injuries, condemning the attack, and describing it as a "cowardly criminal act."
