The director of the media bureau at Misrata central hospital, Abdulaziz Issa, confirmed that three dead bodies and two injuries arrived at the hospital due to an explosion of an IS landmine that targeted forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos military operation, which is led by forces appointed by the Salvation Government and Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government against IS militants.

On Monday, heavy clashes erupted between brigades from Misrata and IS militias to the east of Al-Saddadah checkpoint and then ended with a remarkable advance for the brigades after they had controlled many areas that used to be under IS control.

The media center of the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos military operation revealed that its forces advanced to attempt to control Abugrein checkpoint, taking advantage of the advance done on Monday.

“The blast took place before we fully control the checkpoint and Abugrein, and clashes are still ongoing on the fringes of Abugrein Preserve after it had been controlled and then it headed to Al-Wishka.” Added the media center.

It is worth mentioning that a number of brigades of the General Staff and other brigades under the command of the operations room that was formed by the Presidential Council have launched a joint operation dubbed Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos, aiming at fighting IS militants and freeing Sirte and its surrounding districts.
