The 6 + 6 Parliamentary Committee, is preparing to hold a new meeting this week in Tripoli, according to the Member of the 6 + 6 Parliamentary Committee, Miloud Al-Aswad.

Al-Aswad confirmed that the members of 6 + 6 are determined to complete the electoral laws before mid-June, pointing to the recent statements of the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, which confirmed that his initiative will depend on the consensus reached by the House of Representatives and the High Council of State.

He also indicated that all the previous experiences of the UN mission failed or brought out weak solutions that did not solve the Libyan crisis, but rather prolonged it.

“Bathily made a mistake when he wanted to set a road map away from the legislative body and when he held the responsibility of the political impasse on the House of Representatives instead on those who carried arms”, Al-Aswad said.
