70 members of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) expressed concern in a statement on Sunday regarding the "negative developments of the electoral process", calling for convening on Monday in Tobruk to question the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) and judicial officials responsible for elections.

The members said the HNEC and judicial officials, responsible for electoral process, have failed to comply with the law and manipulated legal procedures, in addition to ignoring forgery and bribes to buy votes, let alone the intimidation or even luring of the judicial to influence the election process.

The HoR members said in a statement on Sunday that a session for the HoR will be convened on Monday, calling on Head of the HNEC Emad Al-Sayeh and judicial officials to attend and warning the HNEC against publishing the final list of presidential candidates until after the end of the session.

Most of the 70 HoR members are known to be staunch supporters of Khalifa Haftar, who is also running for president, in addition to being part of the committee that devised the presidential election law that is described as "suitable for certain individuals in Libya".

Observers believe the call came after the candidacy of Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi and Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah to deal a blow to Haftar's hopes for winning the election because the ones who wrote the statement are the same who devised the law without consulting with the High Council of State in violation of the roadmap of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
