The Tripoli Court of Appeal (Second Criminal Chamber) has postponed the Abu Salim Prison massacre case to February 9, 2025, with the continued detention of the accused and the renewal of the arrest warrant for others.

While the most prominent defendants; Abdullah al-Senussi and Mansour Daw were absent from the previous session, other defendants detained in connection with the case attended.

On December 1, 2024, the lawyer for the head of the intelligence service of the Gaddafi regime, Abdullah al-Senussi, Ahmed Nashad, revealed that the trial of his client Abdullah al-Senussi had been postponed until January 12.

For his part, the legal advisor to the Association of Families of Victims of the Abu Salim Massacre, Mustafa al-Majdoub, confirmed that the court had renewed the arrest warrants for 79 defendants in the Abu Salim case and the continued detention of the other four detainees.

Abdullah al-Senussi had attended the session in early November, along with other defendants, via satellite, after having not attended several sessions since the beginning of this year.
