The commander of the Ajdabia border department, Bashir Abu Thefera, said that in two days there will be a newly formed operations chamber related to the Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government, pointing out that it will cover the districts and towns from Ajdabia to Sirte to fight IS militants in their Sirte stronghold.

Abu Thefera clarified Sunday that the chamber is going to be formed in coordination with the Oil Facilities Guard and Ajdabia border department’s units in addition to a number of forces from the east.

Abu Thefera, who came to Tripoli with a delegation from eastern elders alongside the defense minister-designate of the UN-proposed government, indicated that he had held many meetings and had gone in touch with the western region to help Libya out of the current entanglement peacefully.

He stressed that the delegation assured the PC that the defense minister-designate, Al-Mihdi Al-Barghathi, has huge support in the eastern region.

On last Thursday, a delegation from the east arrived in Tripoli containing 60 military and elder figures along with the defense minister-designate of the UN-proposed government, Al-Mihdi AL-Barghathi, as well as the commander of the Ajdabia border department, Bashir Abu Thefera.
