The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, confirmed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Congo, Jean-Claude Gakosso, "the unlimited support of the Government of National Unity for the peace and reconciliation process by working with the Presidential Council and other relevant bodies and parties."
Al-Baour received the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Cabinet Office in Tripoli on Thursday to discuss a number of issues related to the role of the African Union in Libya.
The Ministry said on its Facebook page that the meeting discussed "the file of national reconciliation and the role played by Congo through its President and the coordination for the comprehensive conference for national reconciliation during the coming period."
The visit of the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs to Tripoli came one day before the visit of the Chairman of the African Union, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, the Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso, and the Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki.
