Afriqiyah Airways is to resume domestic flights between Mitiga Airport in Tripoli and Benina Airports in Benghazi city on the 23rd of October, a statement by the company said on Wednesday.

The company clarified it would conduct two flights per week, while a special trip will be operated on the 16th of this month, to mark the reopening of the direct air route of commercial flights between the capital and Benghazi.

The first flight will have onboard technicians, staff members of the Civil Aviation Authority, and officials from the Libyan Holding Company.

Afriqiyah Airways also confirmed the integration of its management in Tripoli and Benghazi, noting it will abolish the parallel administration established in the east.
