Al-Bayda Court of Appeal has set February 15 a date to announce the judgment in the case of Ali Al-Tarhouni, the Chairman of Libyan Constitution Drafting Assembly, for holding dual nationality.

Ali Al-Tarhouni, who still holds an American citizenship with his Libyan one, was elected as the head of the Constituent Assembly on 22 April 2014.

Three complainants, including assembly member Daw Al-Mansouri, claim that Al-Tarhouni is ineligible to be a member in the Constituent Assembly as the Libyan law bans people with dual nationalities from holding sovereign positions in the country.

On Thursday, 11 members from the Libyan Constitution Drafting Assembly boycotted sessions in protest against Al- Al-Tarhouni's actions.
