Vice President of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received the Chinese Chargé d'Affaires Eng Zhimin on Tuesday.

A statement by the PC media office said the talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and developments in the Libyan political scene.

Al-Lafi reviewed with the Chinese diplomat ways to enhance Libyan-Chinese cooperation in various fields, resuming the work of the Chinese embassy in Tripoli, the return of Chinese companies to Libya, and finalizing stalled projects.

For his part, the Chinese Chargé d’Affairs expressed his country’s support for the national reconciliation project, praising the work of the recent preparatory forum that gathered all political parties.

 He also reiterated the need to move forward with the peace process in order to achieve the desired elections.
