Member of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi has valued the efforts of countries supporting the stability of Libya, including Malta.

Al-Lafi made his remarks at a meeting with the Maltese Foreign Minister Ian Burg at his office on Sunday in the presence of Foreign Minister Najla Al-Maqoush and officials from both sides.

The PC member emphasized the importance of consensus among political parties and moving forward towards the electoral benefits that the Libyan people aspire to, according to a statement by the PC media office.

Over and above bilateral relations, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Libyan political landscape and the local and international efforts to resolve Libya's political impasse, besides means to support the newly appointed UN envoy to Libya and ways to complete the constitutional path.

Meanwhile, the top Maltese diplomat praised the PC's efforts "to make the national reconciliation a success and noted its continuous work with international partners to find a solution to the country's current political deadlock.

The Maltese Foreign Minister arrived on Sunday in the capital, Tripoli, at the head of a high-level delegation to hold talks on bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between the two countries.
