The Foreign Minister of the Government of National Unity, Najla Al-Mangoush, summoned the Libyan ambassador to Greece, Hamad Al-Mabrouk, to her office in Tripoli on Sunday to consult on the behavior of the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, who refused to get off his plane during his visit to Libya last Thursday as she was preparing to receive him.

Al-Mangoush described the Greek minister’s behavior as "violation of international diplomatic norms,” and asked the Libyan ambassador to Greece “to submit a note of protest to the Greek authorities to clarify the behavior of its foreign minister.”

She stressed that "such ill-considered actions have serious repercussions on the security and stability of Libya, and an indirect call to strengthen the state of division."

Dendias created a diplomatic dilemma last Thursday with Tripoli as he refused to get off the plane after arriving in Mitiga Airport, heading instead to Benghazi, where he met the Speaker of House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, and Khalifa Haftar.
