The Head of the Libyan High Council of State, Khalid Al-Mishri, met with the UN envoy, Jan Kubis, and discussed the need to consolidate the ceasefire agreement and reopen the coastal road for the benefit of all Libyans.

Al-Mishri and Kubis discussed Friday the latter's recent visits to different international stakeholders and the results of the discussions he made on Libya, in addition to his informal briefing at the Security Council last Thursday.

Kubis explained that the situations in neighboring countries could affect Libya's security, especially in the south, while Al-Mishri reiterated the need to withdraw all foreign mercenaries before speaking about any previously-signed military agreements, calling for a constitutional referendum before general elections.

Al-Mishri urged the Head of the High National Elections Commission Emad Al-Sayeh and the members of the commission to avoid political debates as they represent a neutral body, adding that the High Council of State was working with the House of Representatives to find a common ground regarding the sovereign positions incumbents.
