The head of the Libyan High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri discussed on Monday with the President of the Moroccan Council of Advisors, Hakim Benshmash, the possibility of amending the Skhirat Agreement, related to solving the Libyan crisis.

In a joint press conference with Benshmash, Al-Mishri clarified that the discussions focused on the Libyan internal affairs, in light of the progress made by the GNA on the ground, describing some foreign interventions in Libya as "negative."

"The Skhirat Agreement is the initial political reference for any solution to the Libyan crisis, and all initiatives and agreements that do not contradict this agreement are acceptable," said Al-Mishri.

He also denied any upcoming meeting with the Tobruk-based Hor speaker, Aqila Saleh, saying that their presence at the same time in Morocco was "just a coincidence."

"We will not negotiate with Khalifa Haftar," Al-Mishri underscored, however he indicated that they are open to any parties deriving from the political agreement of Skhirat.
