The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj has met with the Italian Interior Minister, Luciana Lamorgese, in Tripoli and discussed the procedures for the return of Italian firms to work in Libya.

The media office of Al-Sirraj said Italian Interior Minister and her delegation, including the Italian ambassador to Libya, reviewed Rome's role in mine clearance activities in areas that had been controlled by Khalifa Haftar's forces.

The meeting also went over the issue of oil blockade in Libya, as the Italian delegation reiterated the need to reopen production as it is the main source of income for all Libyans.

They also discussed bilateral relations between Libya and Italy, especially cooperation in security, fighting illegal immigration and human trafficking as well as smuggling.

The meeting was attended b y Government of National Accord's officials, including the Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha, Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala, Libyan EU ambassador Hafez Kaddour.
