Algerian authorities are preparing to resume flights and sea travel to Libya upon a request by the Libyan authorities, according to Algerian Elmihwer newspaper.

The newspaper said Algerian authorities' approval to resume flights to Libya came after the visits paid to Libya by the Algerian Minister of Maghreb and African Affairs, Abdelkader Messahel, who discussed with Libyan authorities the reactivation of commercial transactions between the two countries.

"The idea was also discussed when Fayez Al-Sirraj, the Head of the Presidential Council, visited Algeria." The newspaper indicated, adding that he also was promised that Algeria will soon reopen its embassy in Libya's capital.

Messahel visited Libya twice recently, one to western and eastern regions and another to the southern region, while Al-Sirraj also visited Algeria last week.

Both Messahel and Al-Sirraj discussed, separately, the Libyan political issues and the Algerian support for having a peaceful solution to Libya's political deadlock.
