Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, has reiterated the need to advance with the Libyan dialogue, which he said would promote national unity.

Lamamra made his remarks during a meeting with Foreign Minister Najla Al-Manqoush, on the sidelines of the 20th Doha Forum.

The top Algerian diplomat emphasized his country's "firm and permanent" support for the Libyan people.

For her part, Al-Manqoush said she values Algeria's solidarity and supportive stance towards the crisis in Libya "and its tireless endeavor to advance the higher interest of the Libyan people."

Over and above the bilateral relations, the two sides discussed the political developments at the regional and international levels, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry's media office.
