Libyan Administrative Control Authority

The Libyan Administrative Control Authority has issued a decision to detain the Director of the Office for the Recovery of Libyan State Funds and Managed Assets on charges related to alleged misconduct.

In a statement on its official Facebook page, the authority announced that its General Investigation Department is handling the case, identified as Case No. 408 of 2024. Investigators have questioned the accused regarding actions taken in his capacity as director, confronting him with allegations that violate Libyan laws and regulations.

Among the charges are accusations that the director issued assignments and authorizations to foreign offices, individuals, and companies to represent the office and Libya in the recovery of state funds without adhering to current legislation.

Additionally, it was revealed that the accused holds dual citizenship without obtaining approval from the relevant Libyan authorities, a violation that has reportedly caused harm to the state and public funds.

The authority emphasized its commitment to ensuring accountability and safeguarding Libya’s financial interests.
