The 162nd regular session of the Council of the Arab League convened on Sunday in Cairo at the level of permanent representatives.

The meetings aim to prepare for the upcoming gathering of Arab foreign ministers scheduled for Tuesday.

The Libyan delegation, led by Ambassador Abdul-Mutalib Thabit, the Permanent Representative of Libya to the Arab League, includes, Khairy Izz al-Din al-Alam, Director of Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul-Rahman Ali al-Ghazir, Head of the Arab League Department at the Ministry, and Minister Plenipotentiary Yusuf Muhammad al-Aswad.

Over the next two days, the council will review the agenda, which features pressing regional issues, focusing on various aspects of Arab joint action.

The discussions will also cover the implementation of council decisions made during the previous sessions, namely the 161st and 162nd.

The outcomes of this meeting are anticipated to set the ground for enhanced cooperation among member states and address issues of common concern during the forthcoming ministerial discussions.
