The Audit Bureau convened a high-level meeting on Sunday to discuss institutional and technical matters related to the country’s public financial oversight for the coming years.
The session, chaired by Audit Bureau President Khaled Shakshak, brought together directors of departments and offices to review the Bureau’s operational roadmap for 2025–2026. The plan aims to align with national audit priorities and strengthen institutional efficiency.
The meeting also addressed the technical preparation of the Bureau’s 2024 Annual Report. Early findings were presented, offering key indicators on the level of institutional compliance and ongoing challenges in governance and financial management.
In his remarks, Shakshak underlined the importance of reinforcing the Bureau’s independence in line with Libyan law. He stressed that impartiality and transparency in auditing are essential to protecting public funds and promoting accountability.
Participants also called for greater coordination and unified efforts among departments to ensure the effective implementation of approved policies and plans.
