The Prime Minister-designate who was appointed by the House of Representatives, Fathi Bashagha, condemned what he described as “wasting public money and the wealth of the Libyan state in favor of an outlaw government,” referring to the Government of National Unity headed by Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

Bashagha said on Twitter on Saturday: "We will confront this deviation firmly by political means. His statement came after the Ministry of Finance announced the National Oil Corporation's transfer of $6 billion to its account at the Central Bank, from oil revenues, derivatives and gas.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Planning and Finance of Bashagha's government, Osama Hammad, said Saturday he was surprised about the failure to implement instructions issued by a higher administrative authority, which is inconsistent with the legislation in force, as well as the failure to adhere to the granted authorities,” in reference to the request of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, to the Head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, to freeze oil revenues and not to transfer them to the Central Bank of Libya so that Dbeibah's government does not use them.
