Bashagha says ready for investigation into any violations
The ex-Minister of Interior in Libya's Government of National Accord, Fathi Bashagha, said he was ready for investigation into any kind of violations, adding on Twitter Tuesday that he had now handed over power to the new incumbent, Khalid Mazen, of the Government of National Unity.
Bashagha apologized to all Libyans on any mistakes he had done as he worked on his duties as an Interior Minister since October 2018.
"I'll be ready for accountability for violations, if any happened." He said, adding Libyans would never accept the "iron and fire" ruling and that he and the rest of the Government of National Accord officials are the first to abide by laws and hand over power peacefully to ensure the civilian state quest would continue.
Bashagha handed over the Interior Ministry duties to Khalid Mazen on Tuesday in Tripoli in the presence of many officials and officers from the Ministry; a ceremony that was followed by similar handover ceremonies in a number of ministries without any obstacles. The rest of ministries will follow suit gradually over the following days.
