The UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, met with the Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah on Sunday and discussed developments in holding elections in the country and the need for fair electoral laws for all.

Dbeibah met with Bathily in his office in Tripoli and reviewed the file of the return of the displaced people and the creation of an appropriate environment for that. They also discussed the latest developments in the situation in Sudan, the impact of the conflict on Libya and the efforts toward achieving calm.

Bathily met on Saturday with a delegation from the (6+6) committee that is concerned with finalizing electoral laws in the presence of the technical team assigned by the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

UNSMIL said in a statement that Bathily renewed the offer to provide all possible support to enable the committee to accomplish its tasks as soon as possible, stressing the importance of the committee's role and responsibilities in issuing the necessary laws for holding comprehensive elections in Libya.
