The UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, has urged the international community and Libya's neighbouring countries to unite their efforts to help Libya out of its crisis.

Commenting on his attendance at the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Tripoli on Sunday, Bathily tweeted that the meeting was an expression of solidarity with the Libyan people and support for their endeavors to build a future of peace and prosperity.

He said the registration of more than 2.8 million Libyans in the voting lists indicates the will and determination of Libyans to choose their representatives, restore legitimacy to their institutions, and pave their way towards stability through a democratic political process.

"I called on all Libyan stakeholders to come together and find ways to overcome their differences so that Libya can – once again - play a leading role as an African-Arab country, as part of the Mediterranean, and as an active member of the United Nations family." He added.
