‎The Director General of Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, Belgassim Khalifa Haftar, signed two memoranda of understanding and contracts to implement new projects with French companies on Wednesday, as part of the activities of the second day of the Libyan-French Forum for Development and Reconstruction held in Benghazi, in the presence of the French Ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje.

The documents signed included a memorandum of understanding between the fund and the Business France Agency, a memorandum of understanding with the French Infranum Foundation for Modern Technology, a contract to build two bridges in Benghazi (Al-Jalaa Bridge and Tripoli Road Bridge) with the French giant Mater Company, and maintenance contracts with the French Veolia/Sedem Company for steam stations to desalinate drinking water in Derna, Tobruk, Sousse, and Abu Traba, according to what the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund published on its Facebook page.

Following the signing ceremony of these documents, Belgassim Haftar commended the success of the activities and work of the Libyan-French Forum for Development and Reconstruction, noting that "2025 will bring many development and reconstruction projects in most Libyan cities and regions within the framework of the Fund's national strategy," calling on French companies to contribute to these strategic projects.

The Forum's activities continued for the second day, where meetings were held between Libyan and French companies operating in several fields, including: housing, transportation, training and consulting, medical insurance, health care, education, infrastructure, and other fields of interest to both sides.

A French diplomatic delegation, the Director of North Africa, the Regional Director of Business France, and representatives of 50 major French companies operating in the fields of: education, communications, infrastructure, health, investment, transportation, agriculture, and other fields participated in the Forum.
