Chad has requested the resumption of flights with Libya, in addition to coordination of work at the land border crossing between the two countries as well as preparing a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the transportation sector, according to a statement by the Ministry of Transportation.

The Chadian request came through the Chargé d'Affaires at its embassy in Tripoli during his reception by the Minister of Transportation in the Government of National Unity on Tuesday at the ministry's headquarters in Tripoli.

The ministry said that the minister praised Libyan-Chadian relations, referring to the proposed strategic road project that will link northern Libya to its south and from there to Niger and Chad, as well as coordination of work at the border crossings between the two countries.

It added that the Chargé d'Affaires expressed his country's desire to strengthen relations between the two countries, and requested the resumption of flights between Libya and Chad, as well as coordination of work at the land crossing, suggesting arranging a meeting between the two sides to prepare a memorandum of understanding that includes all topics related to the transportation sector.

The Minister invited the Chadian Minister of Transport to visit Libya and coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in this regard.
