The Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Talal Al-Mihoub, warned of the danger of "tampering with the borders between Libya and Tunisia."
Al-Mihoub expressed his surprise and condemnation of the statements of the Tunisian Minister of Defense, Khaled Al-Sahili, at this time regarding the borders between the two countries, adding that "any step in this direction will not be recognized" and that the Libyan House of Representatives will hold its next session to discuss Al-Sahili's statements.
It is noteworthy that the Tunisian Minister of Defense had spoken about the issue of re-demarcating the borders with Libya, saying that a joint Tunisian-Libyan committee is discussing this issue, adding that his country "will not give up any inch of the national territory."
The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday that the file of "demarcating the Libyan-Tunisian borders" had been completely closed more than a decade ago, through a joint committee between the two countries, and that it has since become a stable and fixed file that is not open for discussion or reconsideration.
