Local sources in Al-Zawiya, west of the country, confirmed that the clashes that took place on Tuesday evening had stopped in order to evacuate the stranded people, after clashes with light, medium and heavy weapons between armed groups.

The sources said that the clashes stopped and may return at any moment after the armed confrontations on Khartoum Street and Baer Al-Ghanam bridge in the city.

They also pointed out the formation of a joint room between the Ambulance and Emergency Service and the Libyan Red Crescent, which evacuated the stranded and sick people from the Basateen Clinic, after sending distress calls, in addition to some families trapped in areas of clashes.

No official body, including the Government of National Unity, the Ministries of Interior and Defense, the Chief of General Staff, the West Coast Military District, and Al-Zawiya Security Directorate, issued any statement regarding the security situation in the city.

Armed clashes are constantly repeated in the city of Al-Zawiya between many militias, some of which are engaged in smuggling and some of which are nominally affiliated with state agencies such as the Ministries of Defense and Interior.
