The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, has called on the Ministry of Interior to fully prepare to secure elections in all Libyan cities.

During his speech at the Misrata Security Directorate's celebration of Eid al-Fitr, Dbeibah considered that success of elections is a national duty, which depends on the Ministry of Interior and its personnel under the supervision of his government.

“Be with your country, prepare to secure elections, and be on the side of your people, who said their word: elections, elections, elections.”

Dbeibah considered that the simulation of elections that took place last November in Tripoli proved the readiness of the Ministry of Interior in all Libyan cities for the electoral entitlement.

Dbeibah visited the office of the Misrata Security Directorate, where they discussed the intensification of field work on streets to make security more visible.

The Media office of the Ministry of Interior stated that Dbeibah was received during the visit by the Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior, Director of Misrata Security, heads of security and military agencies, and notables of the city.

In the course of the visit, a meeting was held during which the results of the security plan implemented by the Directorate during the month of Ramadan and the days of Eid al-Fitr were reviewed. The ambitions of Misrata Security Directorate were also discussed in terms of projects and training programmes for police members, and the intensification of field work on the street to demonstrate security and maintain public law and order.
