The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, has made a presentations on ‘Government Expenditure Indicators and Equal Distribution’ to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, the new head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily.
This came during Dbeibah’s reception of the new UN envoy to Libya, at the Cabinet Office in Tripoli, on Sunday, in his first official meeting after his assignment, according to Hakomitna platform.
Dbeibah confirmed his government's support for the tasks entrusted to it in order to achieve stability and conduct elections in Libya as soon as possible.
He also stressed ‘the need to listen to the keen desire of the Libyan people, the decision-maker, and the direct stackholder in moving forward towards elections."
During the meeting, Dbeibah made a number of clarifications on government spending indicators and equal distribution, as well as features of the road map concluded by ‘the Committee on the Return of Trust to the People’ that was formed last March, according to the statement.
Bathily arrived in the capital, Tripoli, on Friday to officially assume his duties from within the country to lead mediation efforts and head the UN mission in the country.
On his arrival at Maitiqa International Airport, Bathily was greeted by Omar Keti, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation and Organizations.
