Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah held a meeting with members from the Administrative Committee of the Executive Body of the Man-Made River Project, which was attended by the Head of the Housing and Utilities Projects Implementation Agency and the Management Committee of the General Water Company, to follow up on the plan of the Man-made River Authority to do maintenance for idle wells in the fields of Hasawena Mountain area and to develop production in Sarir and Tazerbo fields.

The meeting reviewed the plan of the executive body of the Man-made River project regarding the maintenance of 174 idle wells 147 in Hasawena Mountain, as well as the follow-up of the implementation of the water supply project (Ghadames - Zuwara - Al-Zawiya), which is set to be used by more than 27 cities in western Libya.

The meeting also reviewed the production of well fields in Sarir and Tazerbu regions, through which the water supply will be increased to 2 million cubic meters per day compared to the current amount of 1.1 million cubic meters. It discussed as well the security plan implemented by the Law Enforcement Department in coordination with the Man-made River Authority, which contributed to limiting sabotage and malfunctions in the Man-made River system.
