The Libyan Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, responded with bitter criticism to Muslim Brotherhood and those who wanted to form a unified government, supporters of the monarchy or the return of the monarchy in Libya, as well as the House of Representatives.
Dbeibah said during the activities of the February 17 Revolution Prisoners Forum, which was held in the city of Misrata on Saturday: "We are able to hold elections and we proved that in the municipal elections a few days ago.. I know that there are parties working on temporary things so that they can continue in the scene, but we want clear constitutional rules for holding elections."
Regarding Haftar's latest initiative for national reconciliation, Dbeibah said: "There are those who talk about reconciliation. First, we must apologize to the Libyans for the invasion and killing. Is it reasonable for someone who kills Libyans with planes to announce reconciliation? This is naivety and a disdain for the minds of Libyans."
Dbeibah also criticized the House of Representatives, saying: "The House has been working for 13 years and wants to stay for another 13! The House of Representatives raises the slogan of changing the government, and if the government changes, what's next?! They want to change the government to stay for more years or maybe they don't want to leave until death."
Dbeibah said he believed that there were four bodies that hindered the progress of the political process: "The military system, Muslim Brotherhood, the monarchy movement, and the House of Representatives." He said that the military authorities "want to impose their system.. and you did not revolt against a tribe or people, but against the military system, and they cannot return to us now again to rule us with guns."
"There are also the ideological Muslim Brotherhood who took religion on their backs and there are those who took the Qur'an or its interpretation to rule us in their ideological way, and I specifically mention the Muslim Brotherhood and those who follow them, as these organizations cannot rule us with the sword again."
Regarding the monarchy movement, Dbeibah said: “We respect the monarch, but the past won't return. Let us think about our children and grandchildren, so the mass, royal or religious system won't succeed. The only system that fits us is democracy.”
