Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said that the State of Libya has not had any planning projects since 2004, stressing that his government will pay attention to urban planning, giving it priority in the development program.
This came during a visit Dbeibah made to the Urban Planning Authority with the aim of addressing the current urban conditions, discussing in an extensive workshop the urgent and three-year plan prepared by the Urban Planning Authority.
The Head of the Authority, Ahmed Al-Mukhtar, reviewed the measures that had taken regarding the preparation of the development plan and the targeted timetable for it.
The workshop also discussed the short-term plan to address the current urban conditions and address random construction, in addition to the urban strategy for developing the capital of Tripoli, as a presentation was given on the current situation, random growth, and the reasons for the shortcomings in the national plan as well as land uses according to the current situation.
Dbeibah stressed the need to coordinate with the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish urban planning departments in engineering colleges, so that they can contribute to addressing the urban conditions that the country is experiencing, stressing the need to adopt technical training programs for employees of the Authority to keep pace with the development plan targeted by the Authority in its development project.
