The Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, took office at the headquarters of the government presidency Saturday in Tripoli, where he held a meeting with the heads of departments at the presidency to establish a work plan as well as plans for coordination with GNU ministries.

Dbeibah later issued ordinance (No.1) as a Prime Minister, urging a shutdown of the accounts of the investment funds and public companies until a further notice, excluding the expenditures for employees' salaries.

Dbeibah said the move aimed to protect Libyan public funds and to ensure people receive good services, urging the Central Bank of Libya as well as commercial banks to stop any transactions that violate the ordinance.

Dbeibah's GNU will be sworn in next Monday in a House of Representatives session in Tobruk instead of Benghazi after a group of injured fighters of Khalifa Haftar's forces attacked the parliament headquarters in the city.
