‎The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah called for providing assistance to the city of Ajdabiya in the east in facing the repercussions of the heavy rainfall, urging in a meeting on Tuesday with officials from the Ministry of Transport, headed by Minister Salem Al-Shahoubi, to follow up on efforts to address the bottlenecks of rainwater that fell for more than six consecutive days in a number of cities.

Dbeibah said that it was necessary to provide assistance to the residents affected by the rainfall, and to direct the necessary capabilities and financial support to the municipalities, as well as to put them on the map of development projects, pointing to the importance of distributing water drainage vehicles to all areas.

Regarding the rainwater that flooded areas in the capital, Tripoli, including the Al-Bifi Road, Dbeibah suggested establishing "artificial lakes on both sides of the road", to facilitate the process of collecting water, and then draining it. He also called for the formation of a committee to study the areas where there are bottlenecks on the coastal road due to rain in the winter season, and to develop a vision to address this problem.
