Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity - Minister of Health Ramadan Abu Janah - met with the President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, in the capital Baghdad, on the sidelines of his participation in the 61st session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers.

The two sides discussed "ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the health sector, in addition to discussing issues of common interest that contribute to enhancing Arab and regional integration, in light of the health and humanitarian challenges facing the region."

‎The Iraqi President expressed "his greetings to the Head of the head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, and the two Deputies, praising their efforts in achieving national consensus and stability in the country. Iraqi President hailed the efforts of the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, stressing his support and appreciation for his efforts to achieve development and stability after years of wars."

He stressed that "the Government of National Unity imposed security and economic stability, and worked to enhance development, advance infrastructure, and rebuild the country."

Meanwhile, Abu Janah stressed "Libya's keenness to enhance joint cooperation and support efforts aimed at developing Arab health systems and facing current challenges.” 

This meeting comes “as part of the ongoing efforts to enhance Arab partnership and consolidate cooperation in the health and humanitarian fields, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development and serving the interests of the peoples of the region.”
