The Derna Protection Force (DPF) said it repelled the attack of Dignity Operation armed groups Wednesday on the Fatayeh and Dahr Homer fronts, south of the city.

A source from the DPF also confirmed that five Dignity Operation fighters were killed, adding that their bodies were transferred to Hareish Hospital in the city.

“DPF fighters seized six military vehicles in addition to arms and ammunition from Dignity Operation,” the source said.

The source also confirmed that a member of the DPF was also killed and three civilians were injured as a result of an airstrike carried out by a unmanned aircraft on the city.

Fierce clashes broke out on Wednesday in Fatayeh and Dahr Homer fronts, while a number of districts of Derna were struck by air strikes which led to a number of civilian casualties.
