Derna Shura Council hands over buildings of civil institutions to authorities
The spokesman of Derna Revolutionaries Shura Council, Hafeth Addabea, said in a press statement that the council has started to hand over a number of civil institutions’ buildings to the city’s authorities after being freed from IS.
Addabea explained that the council handed over Al-Amal school, the building of medical technology college, and the city’s port to the specialized authorities, pointing out that the council is also working on handing over Loaloa Hotel.
“The council revolutionaries are now defusing the explosive devices that were planted by IS in the university compound in Al-Fatayeh district before they had gotten kicked out of it.” Addabea explained.
It is worth mentioning that the Derna Revolutionaries Shura Council had to position itself in those civil buildings after it engaged in heavy clashes with IS militants last year.
