The National Centre for Cardiac Treatment and Surgery in Tajoura has issued an urgent appeal to Libyan authorities, warning of a life-threatening shortage of dialysis supplies.

In a statement released this week, the centre described the situation as a "real crisis", citing a severe lack of essential operational and medical materials required for kidney dialysis sessions.

The shortage, it said, poses a direct threat to patients’ lives and risks causing serious medical complications.

The centre has called on the Medical Supply Authority and other relevant bodies to intervene immediately and ensure the provision of necessary materials.

“This continued delay has a dangerous and immediate impact on patients who cannot afford to miss or postpone their treatment,” the statement read.

Despite the crisis, the centre commended its medical and administrative teams for maintaining services under difficult circumstances.
